Your Debt

Is bankruptcy right for you? Short sale? Foreclosure? Which first, second, third? None? All? Short sales are popular for sellers and buyers, but the consumer should be made aware of the effects they will have on their credit as a seller, and the risks in buying a short sale "as is." A financial expert can discuss these things with their client without the motivation of a commission on the sale of your home. There are other options, and knowing which are best suited to your particular financial situation is most important. No two families are the same.Talk to us first.

Your Mortgage

Don't pay a large sum of one month's mortgage or more to any company claiming to be able to help you with an inside line to the bank. Ever. We only work with a much smaller program of free, do it yourself, or even advocated positions that work on a pay as you go basis per letter or call for a nominal fee for actual administrative tasks performed. Guarantees and promises are a red flag for a scam. Please be an informed consumer. No lump sums are paid out for nothing. We tell it to you straight, make a plan that best fits YOUR financial interests, not those of any bank.

Credit Repair

Figure out how long something will stay on your credit, how to resolve disputed items on your report, what major purchases will affect your credit rating, etc. Don't pay some agency a wad of cash to solve your credit problems.

We only work with agencies that do the work on a pay as you go basis. No movement or improvement? No payment, simple. Credit repair and Credit building are two different tasks. They can be accomplished with time and little money.

Investments & IRA's

Find out which investments are best for short term, long term and retirement needs.

Financing Education

How much should you borrow and from whom? Private or Public school? For profit school or private? There are many government loans and financing options for education. Find out what they are and how to qualify.

Cash Management

Whether you have a little or a lot, it's important to have a good direction on where it goes. Have a plan? Any investments? How much do you pay to have them managed? Look at them lately? Overcharged and underadvised? Have an IRA or other retirement plan?

Try calling your broker. A broker that can't return a phone call within a day simply isn't making the time for you that you deserve.

Oftentimes, people do not find themselves in search of a financial expert until they are in a crisis situation. In the last several years our economic climate has become one of instability, disillusion and unease. What makes things worse is that we are aware that many of the situations we are facing could have at least been somewhat prevented by regulators, corporations, and yes, even ourselves.  It is always easier to sit and blame, but unless we humble ourselves, accept the changes in our current economic environment and change with them, we are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past.  Find assistance with a variety of issues through our upcoming It's Your Nickel programs, personal consultations and video conferencing.

Referrals

As a resourceful contact person in the desert, if JP Valdez refers you to someone, he makes sure the referral is appropriate to your particular situation. His reputation rests on those with whom he works. Therefore, he only works with the most reputable people (not necessarily the most expensive) in the valley (large and small), and if you ever have an issue with a referral you get from him, you only help the entire listening public to bring it to his attention so he can make any necessary corrections.
